Richard L. Wood is director of religious studies and associate professor of
sociology at University of New Mexico. In his research and writing, Wood
examines the cultural and institutional underpinnings of democratic life,
especially those linked to religion. He is the author of Faith in Action:
Religion, Race, and Democratic Organizing in America.
