Along with analogies to the battle of the Alamo, he peppered his announcement with quotations from the good book. Huckabee talked about his humble roots and how incredible it was that he had the opportunity to run for the highest office invoking a quotation from the prophet Isaiah, “Look to the rock from which you were hewn, and to the quarry from which you were dug.” He also talked about his commitment to principles claiming that he “fought the good fight and kept the faith.” Huckabee said that he would have rather lost this presidential race than his principles.
