Southern Baptists adopted resolutions Wednesday (June 11) addressing the need for accurate church membership rolls and greater ethnic diversity among denominational leaders. In the public sphere, they called for affirmation of the term “Christmas” in public life and urged Christian leaders to consider “the potential problems of politicizing the church and the pulpit before endorsing candidates.” The actions on the second day of the two-day annual meeting in Indianapolis came after Baptists elected a new president and unveiled a new evangelism strategy.
