Seems the anti-Romney sentiment didn’t exactly die when Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign did …

So says The Washington Times’ Ralph Z. Hallow in a story that detects lingering dis-ease among evangelical voters over the prospect that John McCain might tap the former Massachusetts governor as his vice presidential running mate.

The story says the reluctance isn’t over Romney’s Mormon faith (I’m skeptical about that) but rather over his evolving political positions while heading up the People’s Republic of Massachusetts. Money quote:


The Rev. Rob McCoy, pastor of Calvary Chapel in Thousand Oaks, Calif., who speaks at evangelical events across the country, told The Washington Times, “I will vote for McCain unless he does one thing. You know what that is? If he puts Romney on the ticket as veep.”
