Gospel Today, a Christian magazine, was pulled from the shelves of dozens of LifeWay Christian Bookstores, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Its cover featuring women pastors didn’t sit well with the bookstores’ owner, the Southern Baptist Convention. Interested customers must request it from a store clerk who can retrieve it from under the counter.

Said Chris Turner, LifeWay Christian Resources spokesman: “It is contrary to what we believe.”

Said Teresa Hairston, owner of Gospel Today: “I was pretty shocked.”
