VocationMatch.com says a record-breaking 6,930 Catholics used their Web site to complete an online profile and request information from religious communities last year. The web site gathers info from inquirers and matches their profiles against the religious communities in its database.

“With fewer Catholics being taught by religious sisters, brothers and priests, exposure to those living in religious communities has declined but interest in religious life has actually increased,” said Patrice Tuohy, executive director of VISION Vocation guide.

I’ve always sorta dreamed of entering the religious life, so I couldn’t resist trying the site to find my match. My top three were the Congregation of the Holy Cross, the Trinitarians, and the Capuchin Franciscans. I’m kinda surprised I didn’t get the Jesuits, since they’re responsible for a good bit of my tertiary education.
