The WaPo’s Hamil Harris has coverage of today’s visit by the Obama family to the District’s Nineteenth Street Baptist Church (which is on 16th Street, but that’s a long story).
In all the DC chatter about where the Obamas will finally pick a pew, Nineteenth Street hasn’t always come up on the list, but it makes sense. It’s pretty middle of the road, has a long storied history in the city and, as Harris points out, seemed to have the spirited gospel music that Obama has come to love.
