Laurie Goodstein up at The New York Times has a quick comprehensive roundup on all the chatter surrounding Cardinal Edward Egan’s successor as archbishop of New York. Egan reached the mandatory retirment age of 75 two years ago and is widely expected to be replaced — possibly soon.
