If you thought Catholic bishops would stop lambasting Obama after he got elected president, think again. Bishop Thomas J. Tobin of Providence, in his Feb. 12 column in Rhode Island Catholic, presents a mock interview with Obama in which he presses the president on abortion.

Tobin himself, you may remember, skewered Giuliani during the primaries, comparing him to Pontius Pilate.

It’s hard to imagine Obama giving the responses Tobin writes for him; the bishop is seems to go out of his way to present the president in the worst possible light. Tobin also indicates that Obama is radically “pro-abortion” but signed the Mexico City Policy to “fulfill campaign promises.” So which is it?

Here’s one exchange:

TOBIN: But shouldn’t we be using foreign aid for more positive reasons – for example, to provide food, clothing, shelter and medicine to impoverished children?

OBAMA: Bishop, obviously you’re missing the point. If you control the population and eliminate the children, you don’t have to worry about giving them food, clothing, shelter and medicine now do you?
