I’m no fan of soap operas, but there’s a lot of chatter out there about the first lesbian wedding to take place on All My Children. Some social conservatives are all atwitter (“… there are a lot of things that people don’t really want to see and don’t want coming into their homes, and lesbian weddings are certainly one of them,” Glenn Stanton of Focus on the Family, told CNN).
But The View’s Whoopi Goldberg wonders why trashy daytime TV is now suddenly being held up as a paragon of virtue and family values.
