According to WorldNetDaily, the Alliance Defense Fund has filed a lawsuit against a Tennessee elementary school, alleging that student-made posters were banned because they contained Scripture verses, invitations to prayer, and references to God. “God Bless the USA” and “In God We Trust” were among the specific phrases.

ADF Senior Counsel Nate Kellum issued a statement: “Christian students shouldn’t be censored for expressing their beliefs. It’s ridiculous as well as unconstitutional to cover up these references to God and prayer – one of which is the national motto itself – on posters announcing a student-led activity.”

School officials said that the posters were inappropriate since because they mentioned God and were therefore against school board policy.
