The Washington Post reported Tuesday on the Obama administration continuing a campaign practice of featuring prayers at nonreligious events, such as rallies about the stimulus plan.

“To me, it’s entirely a new frontier of religious politics,” David Domke, a University of Washington professor and expert on presidential rhetoric and religion, told the Post. “Prayer will be different than what we’ve experienced since Reagan, with a much more substantial interfaith element.”

The Post said nonsectarian prayers have been said before President Obama appeared at stimulus rallies in Indiana, Florida and Illinois.

The story followed previous coverage by U.S. News & World Report, which we noted in a previous blog.
