Passover is approaching quickly and it’s just about time to celebrate it…kinky style.

According to those whacky kids up The Forward, a group of not-so-traditional Jews come together for Passover every year to celebrate it with just a little bit more, um, flare. Recalling their history with “a liberal dose of double entendre,” the Passover of the KinkyJews involves a grown-up version of show-and-tell, whips, and “sex-positive” songs.

Naomi (who requested her last name not be used) founded the group in 2005 originally as a Friendster group and says she wanted to create something for those who wanted to incorporate Judaism and the kink.

Moneyquote: “We don’t draw a direct comparison between our ‘bondage’ and the bondage of true slavery. However, we do have an additional perspective when we relate to the concepts of bondage, slavery and redemption of the Passover story, since these are common themes in our relationships and sexual expression.”

The event is, not suprisingly, getting some Jews a little hot and bothered — and not in a good way. Rabbi Shmuley Boteach says such a celebration is disrespectful. “Can you imagine the outrage if a group of people decided to commemorate African-American slavery by having an orgy? This wasn’t a joke. Millions of God’s children were sold on the block, and here you are trivializing evil with this vulgar celebration.”
