The family of Daniel Hauser, the Minnesota teen with cancer who had shunned chemotherapy for religious reasons, reports he is undergoing the treatment now but is not tolerating it well, his Web site reports.

“He is understandably angry and depressed about being forced to go through the ravages of chemotherapy again,” reads a statement on the status of the 13-year-old.

His mother, who disappeared with him in May to avoid additional traditional treatment, asked for prayers and privacy in an additional statement.

“This is a very hard time for our family,” said Colleen Hauser.
