National Catholic Reporter is all over the bishops’ conference in San Antionio. They have a report on the VP of the USCCB saying there’s no push to punish Notre Dame for inviting President Obama to speak at commencement, though they will talk about it quite a bit, privately, of course.
NCR also has reports on the bishops’ plan to speak out on immigration reform and gay marriage, and a lay group is asking the bishops to address the financial crisis.
It’s also worth noting that the USCCB is tweeting the meeting. Never thought I’d say that.
