    Minister Bari is among the Saudi trained Wahhabi cadre who were really behind the growth of radical Islam in Maldives. It is hypocritical of him to assert that terrorist threats are being mitigated by the efforts of the Islamic ministry. The ministry is the political prize given to the islamists for supporting the ruling party in the last elections. President Nasheed hopes that this will keep the extreme islamists under his control. This is not happening. Meanwhile, extremism is expanding.
