    This is not a problem confined to the Catholic church by any means. The truth is that there are wolves in sheep’s clothing who use Christian ministry to gain access and groom their victims. Last year Pete Newman a former Kanakuk camp director was found guilty and sentenced to two life terms for the sexual abuse of many boys over a 10 year period he worked there In March of this year, some of those victims filed a lawsuit against the camp, director Joe White and Pete Newman. Pete Newman signed a probationary agreement with Kanakuk in 2003 acknowledging sexual improprieties with young boys. I personally know that my former church Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas fired my youth music minister in 1989 after receiving a call from someone in MS warning them. He admitted to sexually molesting several boys over the 4-5 year time he was there. The church fired him, but did not report the abuse to police. He left Dallas and moved back to MS where he is on staff now at Morrison Heights Baptist Church as well as at a high school. I have been trying to warn them of the danger this predator poses to kids there. He has been confronted by the pastor and elders in MS and admits to the abuse at Prestonwood yet still remains on staff as the music minister of all ages…
