The Catholic blogosphere is in a bit of a tizzy over the Obama Administration's recent decision to require certain religious institutions to pay for employee health plans that include contraception coverage.

Commonweal has their own take/roundup on the subject, as does America Magazine. Perhaps the most unlikely commentary, however, comes from the one and only Sarah Palin (remember her?). She posted a critique of the decision on Facebook page this morning.

Did you know Baptist ministers can be funny? This video — written and directed by a Southern Baptist pastor — is a finalist for the Doritos “Crash the Super Bowl” competition, a contest where independent filmmakers are challenged to submit their own Doritos commercial. The top two commercials get to air during the Super Bowl, and the creator gets buku bragging rights.  Something tells me Jimmy Duke, the director of the short, is throwing up a prayer or two right now…

Fun Fact: “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” first appeared in The Atlantic 150 years ago this month.

Finally, your Video of the Day comes in the form of some good old fashioned Christian Rap. The song/video below comes out of the King Kulture project, which not only just hit #10 on the iTunes’ Hip Hop/Rap Albums sales chart, but is also donating the profits of their work to African schools.  Mad respect, yo.
