Lots of people need to tell Catholic bishops loudly and clearly that their work is to share Jesus with others, not to presume they are part of the government of the United States. They certainly do not speak for all Catholics, by any means, just because they wear pointy hats on occasion. What arrogance! Self-appointed mouthpieces presuming the right to dictate to our democratic government. Each bishop has one vote, just like everyone else 18 and over–who is not a criminal. Anyone who falls for episcopal arrogance and ignorance deserves the consequences. The rest of us do not. And we will not accept it.
