Presbyterians to tackle gay marriage, divestment

(RNS) The Presbyterian Church (USA)'s biennial convention will revisit several thorny topics that have dominated church life for the past decade, including whether to allow same-sex blessings and whether to divest of companies that operate in Israel. By Gregg Brekke.

    Of course it’s political, it’s about people. And when Israel ends its efforts to eliminate the Palestinians from the land they inhabited for almost 2,000 years, and when Israel stops invading Palestinian lands, taking them over, and making life altogether miserable for the
    Palestinians, the brutality and other problems Israel has selfishly caused could come to a an end. Peace is claimed to be goal of all Abrahamic religions. Peace requires justice. Let us work toward peace starting with justice.
