(RNS) Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf reflects on why America is a Shariah-compliant nation, why Islamophobia has increased in the 10 years since the 9/11 attacks, and why the turmoil over the so-called "Ground Zero mosque'' actually increased America's standing in the Muslim world. By Daniel Burke.

Imam Rauf said: “Moreover, many Muslims feel that they can practice their religion more freely in the United States than in any of their homelands.” Now, I wonder, how many non-Muslims consider this a good thing and how many would consider this a black mark on America’s attitudes toward Islam?
I’m not sure myself. I appreciate that we are the land of the free, but I also acknowledge that we were originally a Christian nation (were too!) and many feel that the influence of Muslims – toward Shariah law for example – is a threat to our way of life.
    Any ideas?

Join ACT for America to fight the takeover of Shariah in our free country… if you don’t, you will see (as evidenced by 1400 years of Islamic history) that Islam does NOT co-exist with other religions (unless you are “people of the book” (Christians or Jewish) – THEN you can pay the jizyya tax (which protects you from them – kinda like how the mafia does it) and live as a second class citizen. You think the Nazi’s came up with the yellow star??? You would be wrong. It was a Muslim thing first. Learn more about Islam and you will see that it is NOT compatible with American values and freedom.
