A total of 99 self-immolation deaths have occurred since February 2009, according to the Tibetan government-in-exile in Dharamsala, India. (RNS) In its latest move to crack down on dissent, the Chinese government treats self-immolations as a crime and charges anyone inciting the act with "intentional murder."
