ABILENE, TEXAS – A reproduction of Latimer Bowen Ramsey’s “The Lion of Judah” is to be presented as a gift to the First Family marking the President’s Easter Breakfast on April 5, 2013.The Lion of Judah will be delivered in behalf of Ramsey to the White House by Rev. Dr. Cindi Love, Executive Director of Soulforce.  Rev. Love is a guest of the President at this year’s gathering of faith leaders.

She represents Soulforce, home of the Equality Ride.  Soulforce is a national non-profit that works at the intersection of politics and religion to end stigma and oppression of people who are marginalized as a result of fundamentalism and patriarchy, particularly lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender citizens and women.  Love is the creator of the campaign Would Jesus Discriminate? and author of a book by the same name.

Dr. Love was recently in Washington DC for the Supreme Court hearings regarding Prop 8 and DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) where she was asked to join two other faith leaders in giving the closing benediction for the people gathered to rally and vigil during the hearings.

Love is a practioner of non-violence and a supporter of President Obama, referring to him as “The Great Includer.”  She said, “I am grateful to join other ministers in praying with President Obama and deeply aware of the healing that we need in our nation and in the world.  The God of my understanding asks us to tear down walls and to build up hope amongst all people, even those with whom we disagree. This breakfast offers us an opportunity to join hands and hearts with our President and pray for unity.”

Latimer Ramsey, a former neighbor of Love, is a prophetic artist who painted The Lion of Judah as a representation of Jesus Christ.  Ramsey’s commission is for this image to reach all 7 billion people and for them to know of God’s love. The Lion of Judah has been carried to many places including Brazil, Uganda, Mozambique, Thailand, China and Korea. “I am awestruck about The Lion of Judah being presented to the White House.  It is thrilling to watch as the incredible favor of Heaven opens its doors to accomplish its purpose.”, says the artist.

Brock Cravy, owner of The White Buffalo, the Christian art gallery who arranged for the presentation, said, “One cannot deny the great significance of this event that on the occasion of Easter, the Executive Director of Soulforce is presenting a prophetic depiction of Jesus Christ as The Lion of Judah to the President of the United States at the White House.  Only God could have orchestrated this string of events.  Left to their own devices, any one of the parties involved could have single-handedly denied the plausibility of such an occurrence.”
