Support for Marijuana Legalization among Religious Groups

While less than 3-in-10 (29 percent) white evangelical Protestants and less than half (48 percent) of Catholics favor marijuana legalization, clear majorities of both white mainline Protestants (58 percent) and religiously unaffiliated Americans (78 percent) favor this measure.

  • Wow this is really interesting. I never really looked at the legalization of marijuana from a religious standpoint, only by age.

    It’s really funny to see folks that have no religious ties (for lack of a better word) favoring the legalization of it.

  • I wonder why politicians prohibit marijuana and allow cigarettes that kill more than 400000 people every year. Nobody has ever died from marijuana…
