Fighting HIV Infection on Chicago’s South Side – Around the country, African American gay teenagers and young adults are the only group that are continuing to experience an increase in the number of HIV infection cases. But on Chicago’s South Side, as Judy Valente reports, the Night Ministry and other volunteer groups from some churches, agencies and hospitals are taking the anti-HIV battle into the streets where the potential victims are – educating, testing and arranging for treatment.
Reconciliation in Rwanda – Twenty years after Rwanda’s inter-tribal genocide killed a million people, Fred de Sam Lazaro reports on the efforts of Rwanda’s survivors, especially young people, to learn to live in peace with neighbors who were their enemies. Rwanda’s churches are prominent in the efforts and so are outside Christian agencies such as World Vision.
