A deadly shooting at Seattle Pacific University yesterday has left us, again, with more questions than answers. What does an event like this do to a school's psyche?

  • Great insights, Laura. Thanks for sharing your heart. Every time a shooting like this happens I yearn for heaven in a way I don’t on typical days. Our debates and disagreements on how to prevent this from happening again are important, but sadly, nothing will redeem this world until Christ’s coming.

That being said, I’m struck by the fact that a student took down a gunman with pepper spray. After something like this happens, a lot of people argue for why concealed weapons permits are important. And yet isn’t this the first time, in a long time, that we have a shooter in custody rather than dead of suicide? Pepper spray not only saved innocent lives but will hopefully allow law enforcement to better understand this young man’s troubled mind, which is so important for helping us prevent future incidents like this one. Just things I’m pondering today…
