I’ve always been amazed at the success of Scientology, a cult created by a Science Fiction writer. Those magnetic channeling machines, the seclusion, whatever……it’s always been an insane asylum to me. Then to see Tom Cruise, John Travolta, etc. As members……well, it just boggles the mind. Thank you, HBO.

What needs to be the focus of this documentary, the historical and factual evidence of the crimes and misdemeanors of the Co$. The fact is in video after video Lafayette Ronald Hubbard makes reference to his ability to bamboozle the adherents of the Co$, for the sole purpose of building his bank account.

What I’d like to see is the director and producer do an expose of the “prosperity gospel” preachers. Among some of the worst offenders of commonsense and common decency are Kenneth Copeland, Joyce Myers, Creflo Dollar, and let us not forget James Robison, Kenneth Hagin Jr. It is a fundamental belief in the buybull that drives many of these people, although there are others like the Co$ for whom the buybull holds no sway but they rely on a mythology created by L.Ron.

Couldn’t agree any more JC! How anyone can believe the unprovable claims of religions that go against anything we know to be true, through any means other than faith based belief is simply insane.

Rule of thumb, if your faith or sect acts in any way similar to Scientologists, they are doing something wrong.

The legions of online apologists, harassment, ostracism, malicious political activities, legal shenanigans, abuse of tax laws for religious groups, use of resources for commercial activity, all pretty bad things that ruin the reputation of a faith or sect, Cough cough LDS cough cough
