When will the persecution of Christians stop?

Persecution of Christians will stop when God’s kingdom or heavenly government (Daniel 2:44; Matthew 4:17) soon intervenes in man’s affairs. This will take place because we are living in the last days of a wicked era (Matthew 24; Mark 13; Luke 21), as prophecied by Jesus when he was on earth.

It will put an end to all human governments and rule in their place, put an end to all wicked ones on the planet, and put an end to inherited sin and imperfection (Romans 5:12), allowing man to finally live forever on earth (Psalm 37:29; Revelation 21:3,4).

No man, nor any of his governments, has the love nor the power to accomplish all of these things, and it is impossible for God to lie concerning his promises to us (Hebrews 6:18).

Christians who have lost their lives due to persecution and other means have the hope of resurrection back to life on earth during that government’s millennial rule (John 5:28,29; Acts 24:15).

I stand in solidarity with the families of our brothers and sisters who are being killed for believing in Jesus Christ. God bless them!

  • Sister Geraldine Marie, OP, RN, PHN

May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace. Amen

Very courageous people! Their murderers do not believe in anything but themselves.

Let’s be peaceful people and pray for peace.

This time period is becoming a new era of Christian martyrs. Moslems blather about the Crusades. But the Crusades took place partly because of constant savagery directed at Christian pilgrims to the Holy Land. If one doubts the history stories of Moslem barbarism one need only read today’s news from Boston to Nigeria to Egypt, etc.
Some say that Islam has nothing to do with this barbarism–but such behavior was not nurtured in a vacuum.

Jesus shared truths with the Samaritan woman at the well (whom the Jews greatly disliked), she became a believer in Jesus and shared what she learned with others, not keeping quiet. Many Samaritans actually became believers (John 4:7-26: 39-42) in Jesus.

Both men and women who form the Christian congregation can be preachers and teachers of God’s Word, the Bible, on an individual basis (Matthew 24:14; 28:19, 20).

However, the Bible makes it clear that those who are assigned to “shepherd the Christian congregation” as overseers or shepherds, must be men only (1 Timothy 3:1-7).

  • Michael Glass

The “religion of peace,” really does have an image problem. In fairness, however, there are moderate Muslims who speak out against such savagery.

“Infidels are those who declare: “God is the Christ, the son of Mary.” – ALLAH (Sura 5:17)

“Bring to me those who would not have me as their King and Execute them in front of me” – JESUS (Luke 19:27)

“Kill the non-believers in Daylight” – Yahweh (Deuteronomy)

“When you meet the enemy in the battlefield, strike off their heads.” – ALLAH (Sura 47:4)

Imagine if none of these gods were real.
There would be no such thing as an infidel, or a non-believer. We would just be people trying to survive on difficult planet.

If these gods are lies (as they likely are) – All of this killing is for nothing.

  • “there are Muslims who speak out against such savagery.”

Yes there are. But they are threatened with death for saying so.
    Fatwas have no borders.

Religion is a public nuisance – especially Islam. Our only hope for the world
is for Secularism and Atheism make quick progress in the mideast.
Some studies show 20% of Muslims do not believe in Allah – but they are hiding because the 80% who do believe are in favor of punishing non-belief in very harsh ways.

This is a global crisis; a race against the clock.
Will Muslims begin to abandon religion?
Or will Islamists insist on Global Suicide to wipe out the infidels?

The clock is ticking and it is in the hands of the religious.

  • Be Brave

Your lack of compassion and noted ignoring of innocent Christians being murdered is so telling to the soul and worth of atheism. As in nothing times nothing.

    Of course.

  • Be Brave

Our secular cities are as violent as the ISIS battlefields. How many young men and women are sold into sexual slavery, drug addiction, mental illness and how many murders and violent crimes are committed in the secular world is uncountable.

A godless world is what secularism HAS delivered. And the dead stack up only in competition to Islam and communist (godless) societies to be compared as to what deliverers more horror.

But in the secular world, this is forgotten as fast as Apple advertises a new product.

  • BB,

“Islam is and always has been more like Nazism than religion”

Nazism was enforced Christianity (“Got Mit Uns”)
Hitler was the prototype of the perfect Christian (“Execute them” – Jesus – Luke 19:27)
Nazism was Totalitarian tyranny modeled on Religion as was Stalinism, Maoism and all dictatorship.

Somehow you wish this tyranny on all of humanity
without realizing it is exactly what you claim to be AGAINST!
NAZISM, Christianity and ISLAM are all the same thing; ENFORCED TOTALITARIAN IDEOLOGY.

You have no clue who the enemy is – you are too thrilled by your fascist ideas.

Your reading assignment: “Animal Farm” and “1984” by George Orwell.

  • “Lack of compassion”

How selfish of you to say so.
The whole world is in danger from this – not just these poor Christians!
These are urgent matters for everyone. Are you unaware that these needless and outrageous executions of innocent people will continue to happen until religion is abandoned?

You disregard the only way out of all this horror while YOU endorse Islam – the faith which argues for Jesus is identical to the faith which argues for Allah. Two shades of the same lie. neither god is worth the deaths of innocents! While you endorse the poisonous theories which produce these crimes.

  • Susan

I can’t imagine anyone I know who is religious murdering someone for their religion. I just don’t get it. I don’t think that I will ever really understand how anyone can murder a stranger who is not attacking them. I don’t think that religion is enough to explain it.

  • Susan,

“I don’t think religion is enough to explain it”

If they say ‘religion is the reason’ – why are you so resistant to that explanation?
Do you not understand that believers truly think Heaven is real?
Don’t you know they are convinced the way to get to Heaven is by following their Holy Book?

When a Christian refuses to go to a Gay wedding – and he says it is because “God demands it” why don’t you believe him?

If a Jew goes to synagogue and wears the yarmulka and says it is because “God demands it” why do you not believe him?

Yet somehow you can’t believe a murder would be exactly the ticket to Heaven??

Kill the disbelievers wherever we find them. – ALLAH (Sura 2:191)

The problem with religion is millions of people actually believe this crap!

  • opheliart

First, these concerns ruminate within ideology (fr-idéologie, gr-idea ‘form’, ‘pattern’ + logos—word, reason), and can be born within any form of conjugation—religious, political, both … and it is usually from antagonistic enterprise that these lethal soirées spark and become enflamed. It would be insufficient to say religion is the cause of all unrest, unless we classify religion as any formed group for the purpose of bonding or binding within certain beliefs and practices. Government is religious in its formation. It reveres and holds law(s) as higher authority and as the ruling power.
That said, Bb, Atheism as a religion not believing “God” exists does not devalue human beings. The devaluing of human comes in militancy and extremist venue. Where Atheistic run afoul is when it make claims on something without understanding, or without experience. It is not wrong to not have experienced Spirit, but it is inconsistent, even unaccredited, to accuse without knowledge.

  • opheliart

Take this example of venue, Bb … why is it necessary to cause this unrest? Wouldn’t it be a more worthy goal to use a less controversial figure if trying to “elevate” the Hispanic in some way? This reeks of religious politics … and is typical of what the RCC injects into Societies.
Big-headed agendas ongoing. We really wish they would address the CLERGY SEX ABUSE and all those criminal bishops who lied and denied authorities, families … Societies … the truth.

  • Chaplain Martin

My heart grieves for those thirty Christians and with their families and friends. Christianity grew in the early Church even with persecution. In the Roman Empire, a person accused of being a Christian only had to verbally renounce Jesus and make a outward motion of worshiping the Roman ruler and he/she was let go. Many met their death for refusing to do so.

The deaths of the Ethiopian Christians is horrible and any view Political, theological, even historical slant given does not diminish the horror of their deaths.

  • “I am now and always have been a Christian” – Adolph Hitler
“My Lord was a soldier, he knew how to treat those Jews for the vipers they are when he expelled them from the temple and we must do nothing less…” – Adolph Hitler
“The Lord tells us we know the shape of the Devil, it is the shape of the Jew” – Adolph Hitler

    NOTHING could be more Christian!

“Bring to me those enemies of mine and execute them in front of me” – JESUS (Luke 19:27)

  • ben in oakland

Probably when Christians start worrying about Christians in the rest of the world, and stop obsessing about the sex lives of American citizens.

  • James Carr

Every week, another mass execution video. Islam is the fire behind the executions. I don’t think we have stalled even one of these events in the year we have been witnessing them. What are we doing to fight ISIS? No wonder Muslims are signing up…..they are winning. All we do is denounce them… if we are Gene Siskel doing a thumbs down on a new movie. Well, America, are we going to let them make “Beheadings XXXVIII”, or are we going to stop it for good?

  • Evangelina

How ironic. Isis is doing exactly what they are accusing the Christians of doing (which they are not doing). Also ironic is that we as Christians have peace even in persecution, but muslims don’t even without it. I am not afraid of them.

“If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know the One who sent Me.”
    John 15; 20-21

Jesus is the one and only Messenger of God the Father.

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” Revelation 22; 13

If we are His witnesses, they will hate us. Nothing will stop it, persecution of the church will only grow as we near the end and His return.
“It was also given to him [antichrist] to make war with the saints and to overcome them…” Rev. 13; 7 and many similar verses which DO refer to Christians. Do not deny the Lord even when faced with…

  • BB,

“Your pathetic dodge of the horrors of what atheism has wrought”

Atheism did not cause those crimes of the 20th Century. I don’t care how many times you repeat that uneducated, preposterous lie.

Atheism, like The National Bowling Society has no law commanding murder – Permission to Execute is the danger of religions, not the National Bowling Society!

Stalinism was not The National Bowling Society!

The Cult of Stalin and LIKE YOUR JESUS CULT, and the Mao Cult – enforced totalitarian ideology where the leader is a perfect god head (Czar, Dear Leader, Fuhrer, etc) Worship or under penalty of death.

    Cults are RELIGIONS!

You will never see the National Bowling Society devolve (as Religion always does) into mass murder (Catholic Inquisition), chaos (ISIS) and rampant genocide (Rwanda).

Atheism is as mild as baby shampoo!

  • Fran

No. Only God’s kingdom or heavenly government will stop it (Psalm 37:10,11; Isaiah 11:1-9) since it can read people’s hearts and discern any evil intentions; we cannot.

  • P. S. John

Atheistic Max is fond of harping on the parable in Luke, 19: 11-27 to somehow prove that Jesus is the man of noble birth who returned as king to execute his enemies. I had already pointed out earlier that a parable is not meant to be understood by everyone, especially by atheists. This is what Jesus himself gave as the reason for speaking in parables (See Matthew,13:10-15). There are people who look without seeing and listen without hearing or understanding. It doesn’t matter for such people whether something is said in parable or not as they are unfit to understand certain truths! AS THEIR GAZE IS TURNED OUTWARD ALWAYS AND THEY REFUSE TO LOOK WITHIN (REPENTANCE), THE CHANCE OF THEIR UNDERSTANDING GREATER TRUTHS SEEMS HOPELESS!!
    P. S. John

  • P.S. JOHN,

“Execute those who would not have me as their King” – JESUS (Luke 19:27)

Do you really think the MILLIONS of innocent Jews ….

….who were slaughtered in pogroms over the last 2000 years because of these words are going to care about whether Jesus meant this as a RIDDLE or a Metaphor of some primitive nonsense he was trying yet failed to convey! ?

Jesus the phony has lost this argument! Do you understand yet?
His wicked words resulted in countless mass murders.
His cryptic bungling has done unmeasurable harm to humanity.

And if humanity wants a better future it will have to wake up from this ridiculous and dangerous nonsense.

  • P. S. John

Dear Atheist Max, You are too quick to judge on matters you don’t seem to understand. Apart from the veracity of the historical connection between those words of Jesus and the tragic events you refer to, you are obliged to follow rules of language in understanding the meaning of words in language. No meanings can be assigned to words in language apart from the contexts in which they are used. The wider context of any use of words in language is called a language game by Philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein. You better be prepared to play the particular language game for any use of words. This is applicable everywhere including the language of science. Any refusal to do so is in danger of uttering gibberish bordering on nonsense. Leave Jesus alone as you seem to be totally unfit to understand anything beyond material things!
    P. S. John

  • P.S.

“you are obliged to follow rules of language…”

That is rich coming from someone who abandons them in every way.

In religion one is allowed to “witness” Christ by just looking at a beautiful little baby. That is a disgraceful thing to do to the rules of language!
If you claim to see Christ in a baby, a Muslim sees Allah then a Hindu sees Ganesha – in the same baby?

Religion destroys the rules of language: “sacred”, “holy”, “God” – none of these words mean anything. “Holy Water” is not different from regular water!

Religion is the guilty party – not those of us who try to solve your Christian Riddles:

“Thou shalt not bear False Witness” – Yahweh (Exodus 20:16)
“Blessed are those who have NOT SEEN yet believe” – Jesus (John 20:29)

    What a disgrace!
Blatant, unrelenting contradictions sold as the truth!

“Execute them in front of me” – JESUS (Luke 19:27)

Stand up and take responsibility for the poison you sell.

  • Greg

Which of the following persons will generate a vile response from at least one person in nearly setting: Gandhi, Buddha, Mohammed, Dalai Lama, MLK, Moses, Brigham Young, Jesus Christ the Son of God? If your answer was the last one, then you will understand. For some reason, when it comes to Our Lord Jesus Christ, the fangs come out. But of course our Christian Brothers and Sisters who are presently being slaughtered for their Faith in Jesus, are merely fulfilling Christian prophecy: Matthew 10:21-24, Rev. 6:9. May they now dwell in eternal ecstasy, experiencing the riveting Love of God Almighty, rapt in the intoxicating delirium of being in his presence.

  • Greg,,

    “May they now dwell..”

Thanks for admitting it might not be real. Welcome to Atheism.

  • Diogenes

Political expediency Max…forgive me/or not, but on certain matters of faith and history, you are utterly tone deaf due to your unrelenting hostility to spiritual faith.

  • Diogenes

P S John, when you’ve had more experience with Max, you will understand that he (apparently) knows nothing of context, or the basic rules of the language arts. It doesn’t reflect a lack of capacity, rather an obsessive compulsion against any form of religious faith; likely due to a grave disappointment in a past professed faith that he cannot reconcile with the idea of God.

  • @Diogenes,

“He knows nothing of context…or basic rules of language..”

    You are both incorrect.

“Bring to me my enemies..execute them” – JESUS (Luke 19:27) Should jolt Christians out of their chairs.
It should snap people out of their complacency about Jesus.

It should force Christians to ASK QUESTIONS.

You seem to think your interpretation – in context – matters.
But your interpretation is irrelevant since that is not how the Bible is used.

My point all along is to show you that there is no “correct” interpretation. And that is the problem with these parables.

The words of Jesus have been edited heavily by many writers, redacted, then frozen and made legendary. They are verbal hand grenades fashioned by random men over centuries.

The Bible is interesting as an ancient object. Speculation on the meanings of parables is an interesting topic to discuss.

But to claim them as true “COMMANDS of GOD” is exactly where the poison and danger is.

  • Diog,

“your unrelenting hostility to spiritual faith”

You keep pretending everyone should jump off the cliff – despite no evidence of any PARACHUTES. What a wicked thing to do to people!

What a crime! to lie to children about Hell. For shame!

There isn’t a shred of goodness or virtue in ‘spiritual faith’ – the vapid blather of someone who gave no thought to any of this.

  • 45 Million people were slaughtered by devout Christians in the Taiping rebellion.

Christian communities always erupt into war – Rwanda was the most Catholic society in all of Africa. It exploded into Christian Killers with machetes – they wiped out 900,000 members of their country and they were urged to do so by Priests and Nuns like Father Seromba who killed 2000 people by himself.

The Vatican protected Seromba as it protects all Christian murderers. The church always forgives murderers. The non-believers however always get the ax.

“Execute them” – JESUS (Luke 19:2&)

  • Atnathewos

Yes It is right We are People of the Cross. I would like not only ISIS but the whole world to know this.
