An intensive desire to share with others

Marc Bernardo is in the middle of his battle with cancer. He was at St. Luke’s hospital in Manila, Philippines for his weekly radiation treatment. But with him, were pamphlets he couldn’t wait to share with the medical staff.

That same week, in a remote village of Congo in Africa, the same pamphlet was read by townspeople; and a little girl in Woodbridge, New Jersey with lollipop in hand, surprises a passerby by handing him a pamphlet. While in Los Angeles, California, TV actor Justin Baldoni from a popular TV show warmly accepts the same pamphlet given to him by a fan.

40 million religious pamphlets were distributed all over the world in 11 different languages, part of the “Reconnect Campaign” launched by the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) – or in English, Church Of Christ.

On this particular week that Bernardo was being treated, his fellow INC members worldwide were hitting the streets to give out pamphlets – an effort to share their faith, to raise awareness about the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) and to reconnect people back to God – from the busiest streets of North America, Asia and Europe, to the remotest of villages of Africa.

With the pamphlet, was an invitation to one of the largest global Bible studies. Officiated by INC’s Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the free event was recently hosted at the newly built Philippine Arena in Bulacan, the world’s largest mix-use theater that seats 55,000 and accommodates thousands more in its neighboring Philippine Stadium. And connected simultaneously via technology, were 2,000 other sites in over 100 countries and territories.

A time when church attendance and religiosity in the world is at an all time low, technology makes it possible for most basic needs to find their way directly to our homes.

The INC has made recent headlines for buying and renovating dozens of houses of worship worldwide that have foreclosed due to financial hardship, bringing church life back into communities.

The INC’s Project Reconnect uses technology to accomplish the work of spreading the good news on a global scale, reminding people of the need for attaining salvation. INC members continue to reach out to encourage others that real faith is worth pursuing, investigating and investing.
