(1971) A troupe of players in clown-face sing and dance a rock version of the Gospel of St. Mattew in Off-Broadway's smash success “Godspell.” The play was conceived by John-Michael Tevelak, a 23-year-old Episcopalian, as a religious answer to dispair.
