Amid Iranian Nuclear Threat and Frantic Efforts to Revive Stalled Peace Process, David Rubin Provides Insights on Obama’s Upcoming Visit to Israel

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Despite years of greatly publicized peace plans and photo-op international summits, the world community is still searching for an explanation for the consistent failures of the Middle East peace process. In light of President Obama’s upcoming March 20 trip to Israel and the Iranian nuclear crisis, David Rubin brings new insight as to why peace negotiations have yet to be realized.

Rubin (www.DavidRubinIsrael.com), an expert political analyst on Israel and the Middle East, and frequent commentator on national and international radio and television programs, examines the failed plans and resulting years of terrorism and recurring wars and determines the necessary conclusions. Built on strong biblical principles combining historical justice and common sense, Rubin expounds in his new book “Peace for Peace” on a comprehensive analysis that can eventually bring a realistic and lasting peace arrangement to the Middle East.

“The time has come for Israel and all peace-makers to take a step back and examine the peace process with open eyes, without ignoring the religious-cultural turmoil in the new Middle East,” said Rubin.

His informed, detailed assessment is timelier than ever, as the world focuses on Obama’s interactions with Israeli and Palestinian leaders this month, as well as the inevitable topic of Iran’s nuclear weapons program.

In addition, according to Israeli sources cited by The World Tribune (March 4, 2013), Obama is anticipated to demand a timetable for unilateral Israeli withdrawal from Judea and Samaria (the West Bank). In spite of denials from the Obama administration, the backlash has already begun in Israel.

According to Rubin, “Land for peace is dead. Israel has been playing the ‘land for peace’ game for years, and all that it has received in return have been terrorist shootings and missile attacks. It’s time to try a new approach — ‘Peace for Peace.’ A genuine, sincere peace agreement shouldn’t require the surrender of Israel’s heartland to a band of armed terrorists.”

Rubin is a former mayor and long-time resident of Shiloh, Israel, in the region of Samaria, known to much of the world as the West Bank. After being wounded in a terrorist attack, along with his three-year-old son, who was shot in the head, Rubin established the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund, which focuses on healing the trauma of terror-victim children.

Rubin has shared his expertise in interviews with Fox News, CBN, Dennis Miller, Michael Savage and Michael Medved and has been featured in some of the most respected publications in the world, including The Jerusalem Post, The Washington Times, Israel National News, Jewish Tribune and Charisma Magazine.

Among insights Rubin can provide with authority in interviews are:

  • The implications of Obama’s visit to Israel for the first time in his four-plus years in office
  • Response to U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry’s assertion that Obama is not bringing a peace plan with him
  • The meaning of “land for peace”
  • The kind of withdrawal Obama is proposing
  • Why “land for peace” and forced Israeli withdrawal from the West Bank will not bring peace
  • Why the peace proposal in Rubin’s book “Peace for Peace: Israel in the New Middle East” has a better chance of success than the current approach of two states for two peoples
  • Why a plan involving Israeli annexation of Judea and Samaria is not an “apartheid plan,” as some critics suggest
  • The impact of a peace plan that proposes absorption of millions of Arabs into Israel
  • The ramifications on the peace process of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s new governing coalition
  • How this new coalition will affect the tensions in the Obama-Netanyahu meeting
