Los Angeles, CA (October 28, 2014) – As the highest grossing independent faith film of the year, God’s Not Dead (Pure Flix) recently received high honors at the Gospel Music Association’s Dove Awards when it won the Dove for Inspirational Film of the Year, beating out Grace Unplugged, Heaven Is For Real, Son of God, and When Calls The Heart.

The award compliments the recent Film Television Impact Award which the film received at the KLOVE Fan Awards in June.

With a budget of just over $2 million and taking in an initial $9.2 million its first week at the box office on just 780 screens, the success story of God’s Not Dead captivated the entertainment industry. Entertainment Weekly and Variety called the film’s debut in the top five box office as the “biggest surprise” and “biggest shocker” of that weekend.

Momentum continued with the home entertainment release in August 2014, when God’s Not Dead debuted at No. 1 on the Nielsen Christian Videos sales chart, and No. 2 on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert and Blu-ray Disc sales charts.

To date, the movie has grossed over $110 million in domestic and foreign theatrical, and home entertainment. International distribution continues as God’s Not Dead will feature a November 2014 release in the Philippines.

Producers Michael Scott, David A.R. White, Russell Wolfe, and Elizabeth Travis have been overwhelmed by audience and industry reaction.

“We are humbled and grateful for the support of audiences, pastors, church leaders and those who saw the greater message of God’s Not Dead,” said producer Michael Scott. “The making of this film has been an incredible and poignant journey, and the success has been an even greater surprise.”

Pure Flix producers recently announced that God’s Not Dead 2 is in development and their follow up film, Do You Believe? starring Mira Sorvino, Cybil Shepherd, Delroy Lindo, and Sean Astin is anticipating an Easter 2015 theatrical release.
