In Theaters July - ‘Faith of Our Fathers’ Commemorates Vietnam; Honors Veterans at Special Local Premieres

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. – June 30, 2015 – As the nation marks the 50th anniversary of the start of the Vietnam War, FAITH OF OUR FATHERS—a moving story about faith and friendship forged in battle, and the love of fathers that spans generations—premieres nationwide July 1.

FAITH OF OUR FATHERS bypasses a traditional Hollywood premiere in favor of honoring military personnel at multiple regional premieres. Veterans walk the red carpet and are greeted by film stars and filmmakers. The unusual red-carpet events will take place in Birmingham, AL (June 30); Simi Valley, CA (July 3); Sioux Falls, S.D. July 4; and West Monroe, LA (July 5).

In a special offer, anyone can text the word FAITH to 313131 and donate $7 towards a movie ticket for a veteran to attend one of the regional premieres.

FAITH OF OUR FATHERS joins every person commemorating the Vietnam War and honors all who have served in U.S. uniform,” film star and producer Kevin Downes said. “Theaters across the country are offering discounts to help more veterans see the film . . . one more way to say thank you.”

FAITH OF OUR FATHERS is a Vietnam War 50th Anniversary Commemorative Partner, and is a Downes Brothers production in association with PureFlix, the producer of the hit faith GOD’S NOT DEAD. The film stars Stephen Baldwin (THE USUAL SUSPECTS), Kevin Downes (COURAGEOUS, MOMS’ NIGHT OUT), David A.R. White (GOD’S NOT DEAD, REVELATION ROAD), Candace Cameron Bure (Full House, Finding Normal), Rebecca St. James (SARAH’S CHOICE) and Vietnam veteran Si Robertson, who is “Uncle Si” on the hit TV show Duck Dynasty. Carey Scott directs. PureFlix and Samuel Goldwyn Films distribute.

In 1969, as the Vietnam War rages, two young fathers report for duty: a man of great faith and a cynic. A quarter century later their sons, Wayne and John Paul (David A.R. White and Kevin Downes), meet as strangers. Guided by letters their fathers wrote from the battlefield, the sons embark on an unforgettable journey to The Wall—the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. On the way, they discover that devastation of war cannot break the love of a father for his son. FAITH OF OUR FATHERS—A Story of Fatherhood. A Journey of Brotherhood.

FAITH OF OUR FATHERS is produced by Bobby Downes, Kevin Downes, Michael Scott and David A.R. White. Executive producers are Bill Herren, Kevin Malone and Christopher Morrow.
