Solas Press announces today that Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology will hold host a  discussion on the recently published book  The Theology of Ecumenism: Thomas Aquinas and the Ecumenical Imperative. Ecumenism brings to mind the sometimes confusing activities of Christian churches in the last century. But the discussion will show it is more ancient and has more widespread roots—an approach to the transcendent realities of life without hostility or fear of syncretism. The speakers will include The Most Reverend John Cummins, Professor Michael J. Dodds O. P., and the author Fr. Antoninus Wall O.P.

Antoninus Wall has unique perspective on this subject. He was instrumental in bringing the Catholic presence to the Graduate Theological Union (GTU) in Berkeley and served as a Professor and President of the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology. Bishop Cummins was bishop of Oakland from 1977 to 2003 and was the liaison to the Catholic schools at the GT U. Fr. Dodds has published extensively on contemporary developments in science and religion.
