COLUMBIA, Mo. – Religion News Service (RNS) announces a new resource that will place professional religion journalism in the hands of small faith-based organizations, permitting them to use award-winning news articles, opinion pieces and photography in their local publications.

The House of Worship subscription is designed for small, nonprofit organizations to publish RNS original content in their newsletters, in bulletins, on their websites, in their organizational magazine, in e-mails, and in other communications.

Subscribers will be able to personalize their user experience. Subscribers can:

  • Select relevant content that is sorted by faith tradition and subject category
  • Structure home page content to reflect topics of interest
  • Download text and images to use directly in online or print publications

In addition to the news content, subscribers are also afforded, free of charge, up to two standard press releases and ten percent off any additional press releases in conjunction with their prepaid annual subscription (press releases must be submitted with at least 24-hour notice).

The House of Worship subscription is available to organizations that:

  • Are not a media or public relations firm
  • Have an average weekly attendance or online participation range of 20 members up to 40,000 members
  • Have a centralized meeting space or online platform
  • Have a 501(c)(3) tax designation as a registered U.S. nonprofit organization

“This is a project that has been in the making for the past year and we are very excited about the launch,” said Tom Gallagher, CEO & Publisher, Religion News Service.  “We have heard from many organizations that they are constantly searching for content to share with their members – information that is trusted, timely and relevant and professionally produced.  RNS  reports on all faith traditions while not subscribing to any religious tradition.  We hope that houses of worship from all faith traditions take advantage of this excellent opportunity.”

The Religion News Service has endeavored to make the House of Worship subscription product accessible and affordable, with monthly ($10/month) and annual ($100) subscriptions available.

RNS is non-sectarian and does not require that subscribers adhere to any specific creed or set of beliefs. You do not have to be a faith-based organization in order to be eligible for the House of Worship subscription.
