NEW ORLEANS — As of January 1, 2020, Dr. John Baxter assumed the role of Acting Chief Executive Officer of NationsUniversity. Dr. Baxter succeeds Dr. Mac Lynn in that role and will serve through 2020. His role will concentrate on securing the financial base of the institution and contributing to a sound functioning organization. Dr. Lynn will continue as Chancellor but with a diminished role. NationsUniversity is accredited by the Distance Education Accreditation Commission, an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Dr. Baxter is the son of the late Dr. Batsell Barrett Baxter. His education includes a bachelor’s degree from Lipscomb University, the M.A.R. from Harding School of Theology, and the Ed.D. from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Lynn and Dr. Richard N. Ady co-founded NationsUniversity as an extension of a plan to offer affordable and accessible biblical education to students in their home locations starting in 1995. The University provides online a Bachelor of Religious Studies, a Master of Theological Studies, and a Master of Divinity to a current student body of 1800 students in over 100 countries. Its mission is building authentic faith and training Christian leaders. It aims at both believers and unbelievers, with as many as 100 different religious faiths represented in its student body.
