Titled “Speak Freedom: Developing Emergent Leaders in the Struggle for Justice,” 21Wilberforce has opened registration for a leadership conference April 12 and 13, 2021. Held online and in person on the campus of Dallas Baptist University, the event will present honest reflections of challenges facing us globally coupled with guidance and encouragement for courageous emergent leaders who want to promote justice for all. The pandemic of 2020 combined with global social unrest, civil wars, mass migration, religious persecution, hunger, homelessness, racism and divisive elections have created a world in crisis. Who are the leaders in this generation that are leading the struggle for justice?

“As we face difficult times throughout the world, it is important that new leaders are being well trained, especially in the area of religious freedom” said former Congressman Frank Wolf. “The Speak Freedom book and conference make clear the type of person that will be effective in leadership roles. They must be visionary, passionate, and courageous. I have great respect for Randel Everett who has the heart and knowledge for training such leaders.”

Speak Freedom conference will have three primary components: Living with Passion, Leading with Excellence, and Leading Systemic Changes. Dynamic leaders from ministry, non-profit humanitarian and advocacy organizations, and business will share insight to explore how to lead courageously through some of the greatest challenges of our time.

Living with Passion: Hormoz Shariat, Founder and President of Iran Alive Ministries, Sammy Tippit, Founder and President of Sammy Tippit Ministries, and Getaneh Getaneh, Founder and President, Watch and Pray Ministries.

Leading with Excellence: Drayton McLane, Jr. Chairman, McLane Group and former Owner/CEO of the Houston Astros, Ralph West, Founder and Senior Pastor of The Church Without Walls in Houston, Texas and Jeremy Everett, Founder and Executive Director of Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty.

Leading Systemic Changes: Michael Evans, Sr., Senior Pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church and Mayor of Mansfield, Texas, Suzii Paynter March, CEO of Prosper Waco, Gus Reyes, Director of Center for Cultural Engagement for Texas Baptists, and Bob Fu, Founder and President of China Aid.

A new book written by conference host, Dr. Randel Everett, President of 21Wilberforce, will be provided free to attendees. The Speak Freedom book uses biblical, historical, contemporary, and personal examples of leaders who have brought about positive change within cultures of oppression that transcend their own time and place. (Audible version available on Kindle and print available from Baptistway Press)

Bob Fu, Founder and President of China Aid, said “Speak Freedom is a timely classic during this challenging season. Dr. Everett is not only teaching about leadership quality as visionary, risk-taking, passionate, creative, and courageous. He lives through it. Anyone who seeks a biblical perspective with practical illuminations should read this book.”

Speak Freedom conference will focus on putting your leadership values and vision into action to propel your team or organization. To register visit 21wilberforce.org/sfevent
