NEWS STORY
RNS-LMU-Jewish: This rabbinical school is moving into a Catholic university
(RNS) – In an arrangement that is both novel and pathbreaking, the Academy for Jewish Religion-California will move to Loyola Marymount University, a private Catholic school formed by the Jesuit and Marymount orders. The move is not merely envisioned as a rental contract for three offices and four classrooms, though a three-year lease has been signed. The idea is to allow for some joint classes as well as other collaborations. By Yonat Shimron. 800 words. (category: a)

RNS-Hirschfield-Oped: Which world do you want to repair?
(RNS) — With Rosh Hashana commencing this Monday evening (Sept. 6), and Yom Kippur following 10 days later, the global Jewish community finds itself in the heart of two seasons — giving season and receiving season. I want to address how any of us — regardless of religious tradition or time of year — thinks about what difference we want to make in our world. By Brad Hirschfield. 959 words. (category: k)

No paywalls here. Thanks to you.
As an independent nonprofit, RNS believes everyone should have access to coverage of religion that is fair, thoughtful and inclusive. That's why you will never hit a paywall on our site; you can read all the stories and columns you want, free of charge (and we hope you read a lot of them!)

But, of course, producing this journalism carries a high cost, to support the reporters, editors, columnists, and the behind-the-scenes staff that keep this site up and running. That's why we ask that if you can, you consider becoming one of our donors. Any amount helps, and because we're a nonprofit, all of it goes to support our mission: To produce thoughtful, factual coverage of religion that helps you better understand the world. Thank you for reading and supporting RNS.
