Unite Our Hearts: Hymn Texts by Women is now available

PORTLAND, Ore. — OCP announces the release of Unite Our Hearts: Hymn Texts by Women. A great gift for music ministers and composers, Unite Our Hearts was edited by composer Barbara Bridge and features 54 hymn texts written by 23 women writers. Each text is set to a traditional tune, so it can easily be incorporated in your assembly’s repertoire, and is also presented independently, so it can inspire composers to create new music suited to each unique hymn.

According to contributor and beloved composer Bernadette Farrell, “These innovative texts, grounded in Scripture and in poetry, provide inspiration for original melodies and for new collaborations among composers. They address the reality of life today; the natural world, care for the stranger, the abiding presence of Christ in creation, and the need for human wholeness.”

Unite Our Hearts also includes scripture readings and references, commentary by the writers and suggested use for each song. Discover new music to inspire your community in this beautiful book of hymns created by women authors and editors.
