Ukrainians and Ukrainian Americans speak out
WASHINGTON — A large delegation of Ukrainians are attending the IRF Summit 2023 including Dmytro Bodyu, a Ukrainian American pastor of the Word of Life Church in Melitopol who was abducted and interrogated by the FSB, eventually having to flee the country.
Law and Liberty Trust and the Salt Institute (Ukraine), in cooperation with the Institute for Religious Freedom in Kiev, are hosting an event Tuesday, January 31st, 5:00-6:00 pm at the Washington Hilton (Holmesmead Room) titled The Impact of War on Religious Freedom in Ukraine. Speakers include Ukrainian religious leaders and experts on religious freedom and regulation of religious activities.
Another event hosted by Ukrainian Americans as part of “Ukraine Week” on Wednesday, February 1st 3:30-7:30pm at Ukraine House is titled Restoring Ukraine: Traumas of War, Children of War, Reconstruction of Infrastructure. It will have a significant religious freedom component. Speakers include Senator James Lankford (R-OK) and Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND).
