New book calls for a ‘Values Revival’

America needs a “values revival,” so says Marty Sidney in his new book, “PERSPECTIVE — A New Look At Traditional Values.”

The present culture has become crude and contentious due to a “falling away from traditional and Christian values,” he believes.

The book is intended to encourage people, especially conservatives, to “hold fast” to their ideals, and to interest others in considering and following high-minded principles.

The once Silent/Moral Majority is now the Silent Minority, Sidney says, because the mainstream news and entertainment media have promoted and made acceptable “a culture of profanity, promiscuity, and pornography.”  This has led to “a very negative affect on society.”

PERSPECTIVE seeks to provide some alteernative ideas as a new voice for conservative thought.  The book is a collection of Sidney’s writing over the past 30 years that includes articles, inspirational quotations, and poetry.  “It’s unusual to have a variety of styles in one book, but I’ve always done things differently,” which he says brought him to explore and accept Christianity in his early 40s.

Among the articles in the book:  “A New Path For Minority Americans” and “Is American Business Patriotic?”

PERSPECTIVE is published by Xulon Press, a division of Salem Media.  Sidney is retired from the news media with a Master’s degree in Journalism from UCLA.  The book is available at:  amazon.com/author/martysidney
