Did you know that Presidential candidate Ron Paul used to be an Episcopalian? No? Me neither, but you can learn about that and a lot more (like why Paul left the church) in Christianity Today‘s interview with the congressman from Texas.

The Associated Press (via the Wall Street Journal) reports that folks in New York City are worried about privacy concerns after it was discovered that city investigators are infiltrating and monitoring Muslim student groups in colleges around the city.

The LA Times has a fascinating look at what it means to be a Sikh woman in the U.S. – turns out it’s harder to balance religion and culture than one might think.

So the Catholic church apparently doesn’t have as many church members as it used to in India. Their solution, according to CBS News, was simple: Hey Indian Catholics – have more kids!

Brad Hirschfield at the Washington Post is talking about the fact that Samuel Wurzelbacher – aka “Joe the Plumber” from the 2008 presidential race – is running for Congress. Reportedly he’s running because, well, God told him to.

Finally, our Tweet of the Day comes from the author of the blog Jesus Needs New PR, who talks about his misguided (Calvinist) youth:

@JesusNeedsNewPR – Somebody asked me if I was Calvinist. I replied, “No. But I did experiment in college.”

No paywalls here. Thanks to you.
As an independent nonprofit, RNS believes everyone should have access to coverage of religion that is fair, thoughtful and inclusive. That's why you will never hit a paywall on our site; you can read all the stories and columns you want, free of charge (and we hope you read a lot of them!)

But, of course, producing this journalism carries a high cost, to support the reporters, editors, columnists, and the behind-the-scenes staff that keep this site up and running. That's why we ask that if you can, you consider becoming one of our donors. Any amount helps, and because we're a nonprofit, all of it goes to support our mission: To produce thoughtful, factual coverage of religion that helps you better understand the world. Thank you for reading and supporting RNS.
