TuesdayâÂ?Â?s Religion News Roundup: More Legion of Christ revelations, Obama and Catholics, St. RonaldâÂ?Â?s relic

The head of the Legion of Christ said he knew back in 2005 that one of the most popular priests in the conservative Catholic order had fathered a child but he still let Fr. Thomas Williams preach to its followers and the public about morality and ethics.

Williams issued a new statement on Tuesday as well, saying he knew he was guilty but thought if he preached more it would be okay. Or something like that.

Catholic groups are suing the Obama administration over the contraception mandate. Does this mean he will lose the Catholic vote? Maybe he can still win it back.

Former Domino’s pizza magnate Tom Monaghan is such a conservative Catholic that he doesn’t want you to send your kids to a Catholic school (or not one he didn't found): “The worst thing you can do is send your kids to a Catholic school if you want them to retain their faith.”

Monaghan is old school, but not like these “Old Catholics.”

Tired of religion and politics? So are many U.S. congregations.

And maybe Mitt Romney and Barack Obama are tired of it, too.

Saint Ronald’s blood is a relic of sorts, but the guardians of Reagan’s legacy don’t want it out for public auction.

The future heir to the Swedish throne has been baptizedLutheran, we figure – in the chapel of the Royal Palace in Stockholm. That’s three-month-old Princess Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary above, in white. (Guess they left the Bjorn at home.) She looks a little like Kevin Eckstrom, but don’t they all at that age?

The Los Angeles Police Department is modifying its surveillance strategy on Muslims.

Pakistan briefly banned Twitter. Maybe they were bummed over the Facebook IPO fell flat.

Three women were detained after attempting to pray at the Western Wall in Jerusalem.
