Head from a colossal marble cult statue of Zeus, which was found at Aigeira, Achaia. Pausanias tells us (in the 2nd century BC) that the statue was carved by the Athenian sculptor Eukleides, who was active in the second half of the 2nd century BC. The eyes were originally made of a different material and inlaid into the marble.
