Luzia Premoli

In this Feb. 12, 2021, photo provided by Sister Luzia Premoli, she takes a selfie with a young girl in the village of Bagandou in the Central African Republic. In 2014 Pope Francis appointed Premoli to a Vatican congregation and she became the first women in the history of the Catholic Church to take on this role. Premoli is currently teaching young women about the Bible and Christianity and works with a community of Pygmies on education and agricultural initiatives in the equatorial forest in the Central African Republic.
