“I am honored to join this celebration of justice-centered ministry pioneers who preach and practice the unconditional love of Jesus Christ for ALL people of African descent. As we witness the rise of brazen anti-blackness and homophobia wrapped in ‘Christian nationalism’ it is critical we amplify the voices and lessons of Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr., Bishop Yvette Flunder, and Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr.” — Rev. Dr. Otis Moss III, Senior Pastor, Trinity United Church of Christ

“It is a privilege to join Trinity United Church of Christ and Pride in the Pews to celebrate Black LGBTQ+ faith leaders and allies for their unparalleled contributions to advancing LGBTQ+ rights. With ongoing legislative attacks against the rights of the LGBTQ+ community, it is incumbent on us to mobilize our community and to defend the gains we have made as a country in securing human rights for all.” — Illinois State Rep. Lamont J. Robinson, 5th District Representative

“Pride in the Pews is thrilled to celebrate trailblazing Black LGBTQ+ faith leaders and allies for their prophetic leadership and unrelenting advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community. This year’s honorees are crystallized examples of servant leaders committed to ensuring the full participation of the LGBTQ+ community in our democracy and in our churches.” — Rev. Don Abram, Founder and Executive Director of Pride in the Pews
