earns 2022 Great Place to Work Certification™

The prestigious certification is based entirely on what current employees say about their experience working at Ascension. This year, 96% of employees said it’s a great place to work – 39 points higher than the average U.S. company, and 3 points higher than the company’s 93% score in 2021.

The Great Place to Work Institute conducted the survey and responses were confidential. Ascension’s highest scores were related to leadership and camaraderie:
- “Management recognizes honest mistakes as part of doing business” (100%)
- “Management is honest and ethical in its business practices” (99%)
- “People care about each other here” (99%)
- “People look forward to coming to work here” (99%)
The company’s Catholic values and mission orientation were highlighted in high agreement rates among the following statements:
- “I feel I make a difference here” (100%)
- “When I look at what we accomplish, I feel a sense of pride” (99%)
- “My work has special meaning: this is not ‘just a job.’” (96%)
- “People here are willing to give extra to get the job done.” (96%)
“Great Place to Work Certification isn’t something that comes easily – it takes ongoing dedication to the employee experience,” said Sarah Lewis-Kulin, vice president of global recognition at Great Place to Work. “It’s the only official recognition determined by employees’ real-time reports of their company culture. Earning this designation means that Ascension is one of the best companies to work for in the country.”
According to Great Place to Work research, job seekers are 4.5 times more likely to find a great boss at a Certified great workplace. Additionally, employees at Certified workplaces are 93% more likely to look forward to coming to work, and are twice as likely to be paid fairly, earn a fair share of the company’s profits and have a fair chance at promotion.
