More than 10,000 expected at this year’s global worship music event

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Sing! The Great Commission, the 2023 Getty Music Worship Conference, will take place September 4-6 at the Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville. The Sing! Conference, started in 2017 by famed GRAMMY®-nominated recording artists and hymnwriters Keith and Kristyn Getty, offers seminars and sessions led by top Christian speakers and artists; more than 10,000 attendees from across the globe are expected this year. John Piper, John Lennox, David Platt, CityAlight, Laura Story, Shane & Shane, Andy Crouch, Ruth Chou Simons, Shai Linne, Sandra McCracken, Jeremy Begbie, and many others are scheduled to appear at Sing! The Great Commission; for additional conference details, to register for the in-person conference or to stream online, and to learn about volunteer opportunities, go to www.gettymusicworshipconference.com.

Keith Getty, celebrating the just-announced three nominations from the Gospel Music Association for the 54th GMA Annual Dove Awards (Inspirational Album of the Year, Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year, and Children’s Recorded Song of the Year) talked about the focus for their 2023 event: “The theme for this year’s Sing! Conference is ‘The Great Commission’; we want to celebrate how worship fuels our witness,” said Keith Getty. “The songs we sing should beautifully and compellingly express the hope we have in Jesus. Christ calls us to make disciples of all nations – in other words, he desires people to sing his praise from every tribe, tongue, and language. Everywhere we go people tell us how hungry they are to sing rich songs that are full of biblical content. They are looking for hymns to carry for life. We have learned so much from our friends and partners around the globe, and every year at the Sing! Conference we are freshly inspired by the teaching, the creativity, the community, and the passion that each speaker, musician, artist, and attendee brings.”

The conference includes two late-night concerts and 33 breakout seminars on congregational singing, songwriting, creative arts, choral music, children’s & family ministry, and global missions. Previous years’ events have welcomed attendees from over 100 countries and have been translated into 12 languages.

To serve as a prelude to this year’s conference, the Gettys will host a city-wide gathering of songs, stories, and inspiration at Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium on Sunday, September 3 at 7:30 pm. “An Evening with Keith & Kristyn Getty and Friends at the Ryman” will feature the modern hymns of the Gettys that are sung around the world, plus folk and roots music with an emphasis on bluegrass and Celtic styles. The Gettys will be joined by Laura Story, CityAlight, Matt Papa, Matt Boswell, Colin Buchanan, Skye Peterson, and others. Tickets for this one-night event are available at www.ryman.com
