CAFF College Guide receives prestigious Innovation Prize
Center for Academic Faithfulness & Flourishing

Heritage Foundation award ensures resource will remain free to public

The Heritage Foundation has awarded a 2025 Innovation Prize to American Reformer, sponsor of the Center for Academic Faithfulness & Flourishing (CAFF), in recognition of the Center’s pioneering work in bringing transparency to the Christian college search process. The CAFF College Guide is a free online directory of over 250 Christian colleges and universities from across the United States. The Guide presents independently verified results for 150 objective measures of institutional commitments, requirements, features, and performance.

“We are pleased to award American Reformer an Innovation Prize and a grant of $50,000 in support of its efforts to connect faithful students with faithful colleges in order to build a K-20 pipeline for conservative Christian students,” said Kevin D. Roberts, President of The Heritage Foundation.

Users of the Guide can apply various filters to narrow results and then explore in-depth profiles for colleges and universities that match their search parameters. Popular details include the college’s location, theological tradition, spiritual life program, campus policies, academic majors, varsity sports, acceptance rate, and cost of attendance.

Roberts continued, “Families and students should be able to know which Christian colleges are true to their faith commitments. We believe that the CAFF College Guide is a bold and innovative project that allows prospective students to make a truly informed decision when selecting a Christian college.”

Reflecting on the impact of the award, CAFF Executive Director P. Jesse Rine noted, “This generous grant will enable CAFF to expand the Guide’s offerings without charging a subscription fee to users. We are grateful to The Heritage Foundation and its donors for their leadership in supporting initiatives that strengthen the critical elements of American civil society.”
