Red Letter Christians launches $47,000 capital campaign to confront authoritarianism with bold faith
Red Letter Christians

PHILADELPHIA — In response to the growing threat of religious extremism and authoritarianism in the U.S., Red Letter Christians (RLC) has launched its 2025 Capital Campaign: Bold Faith for a Just World, with a goal of raising $47,000 by July 31 to confront the crushing policies of our 47th President.

Rooted in the radical love and teachings of Jesus, RLC’s campaign seeks to mobilize people of all faiths and moral courage to stand against the misuse of religion as a tool for domination. Funds raised will build coalitions, protests and prayer vigils, a digital counter-narrative campaign, and continued investment in young leaders and grassroots movements.

“This is not just a Christian crisis — it’s a moral one,” said Shane Claiborne, co-founder and Executive Director of Red Letter Christians. “Symbols of faith are being distorted to legitimize fear and fascism. We’re calling on everyone who believes in love, truth, and justice to rise with us.”

The campaign builds on a powerful year for RLC, outlined in their newly released 2024 Annual Report: What Love Required of Us. Highlights include:

  • Mobilizing 10,000+ people in politically divided communities
  • Resourcing 300+ churches to resist Christian nationalism
  • Forming cross-faith coalitions to address systemic injustice
